Week 1 – FF of Napa-Sonoma CA – arrival 7/7, departure 7/13

Week 2 – FF of Columbia Cascade OR – arrival 7/13, departure 7/19

This wonderful journey of two home stays brought fifteen ambassadors together from three different clubs.
Week 1 with FF of Napa-Sonoma involved two hosting households – one in Sonoma County and one is Napa County.  Week 2 with FF of Columbia Cascade placed us with hosts in both Oregon and Washington. 
We thank our hosts and all members who made our time with them so memorable.  What beautiful parts of the country!!  Here are just a few things that we saw and did.  ​​​​​​​​​

7/7 – Upon arrival, Ken and Lan Tran hosted the Napa-Sonoma Welcome meal at their BEAUTIFUL home
7/8 – We visited a Power and Implement Museum and the Charles Schulz museum, learning about and appreciating Charlie Brown, Snoopy and the whole gang

 

7/9 – We had a walk and picnic at MAJESTIC Armstrong Woods State National Reserve
7/10 – We had a wine tasting at Buena Vista Winery, founded in 1856 making it the second oldest winery in California
7/11 – With Napa hosts, we visited the Sharpsteen Museum in Calistoga where we learned a lot about California’s early history.  7/12 was a free day with hosts and we said ‘goodbye’ at a Farewell Dinner.
7/13 – after a flight to Portland, we were met by our FFCC hosts and given a very warm Welcome dinner
7/14 – We visited two very beautiful Portland gardens and were treated to a picnic lunch
7/15 – Visit to Columbia River Maritime Museum to understand the importance of the Columbia River and it’s history to this region.  Also visited was was the Astoria Column, a monument to the riches of the Pacific Northwest and the people who settled there.  
7/15 – We visited the Lewis and Clark National Historic Park.  7/16 was a free day with hosts.
7/17 – Our whole group and Portland hosts overlooking the beautiful Columbia River
7/17 – This area of Oregon is FULL of waterfalls. Here is Multnomah Falls, the tallest waterfall in Oregon.
7/18 – Swimming, good food and fun at FFCC’s Farewell dinner. Here, Bill and Saaku play traditional drums from Saaku’s homeland.
