FF of San Francisco Bay Area
NE Ohio looked beautiful this September when seven ambassadors from FF of the San Francisco Bay area came for a journey to NE Ohio.  Some had area roots and some were visiting for the first time.  I think all were impressed with the area’s history, vitality and many things to do.

My most sincere thanks to the planning committee, home, dinner and day hosts who made it all possible.  To our new friends from San Francisco Bay area, come see us again soon!

Here are a FEW of the highlights of the week’s activities…

9/14 – several of the hosts meeting several of the ambassadors at Cleveland Hopkins International Airport.
9/15 – North Coast Harbor Day and a narrated tour of Cleveland’s Lake Erie shore and the Cuyahoga River aboard the Goodtime III.  Welcome dinner was at 1330 on the River.
9/16 – Downtown Cleveland Day. After a tour of the theaters of Playhouse Square, a walking tour led by Lori. Evening dinner hosting by FFNEO members.

9/17 – Amish Day started at Aggie’s sugarbush hearing an explanation of the maple sugar producing industry in Ohio.
9/17 – one visit of several during Amish Day was to the Geauga Amish Historical Library.  The day ended at Back 40 BBQ for a delicious Amish-prepared meal.
9/18 was a ‘free day’. Several hosts and ambassadors went to Put-in-Bay in Lake Erie, both historical and fun!

9/19 was University Circle Day which began with a member/docent-led tour of the Cleveland Museum of Art.
9/19 – our farewell dinner was at the Tavern of Little Italy.
9/19 – our final activity of this memorable week was attending the Cleveland Orchestra’s season-opening performance of Tchaikovsky’s Pathétique at Severance Hall.
